A new piece in my Fire Starter series, “perdition” makes her debut. This piece communicates the sensuality of distraction and autonomy, two things that women are commonly denied to take part in. Female rage is something that is seen as a sign of lack of self control and being mentally unstable. To the contrary Perdition displays power, control, and self-assuredness , the expression and strong pose of the figure states to the viewer that disputed societies perceptions, she is totally in control.
made from new and used wood, acrylic paint and hand dyed fabric. Featuring three separate wood cuts bonded together to create depth and texture. This piece is wall-hang ready and stands 24.5” high, 9.75” wide and 4.75”deep.
